Cat feeding math
Cat meal portion calculator
Split a daily cat food target into two, three or four meals using cans, cups, grams and treats.
Start daily, then divide
Meal portions are easiest when the daily total is clear. Calculate the daily calories, subtract treats, convert wet and dry food, then divide by meals per day.
Mixed feeding example
If the day calls for 1.2 cans and 24g dry food across three meals, each meal is about 0.4 cans plus 8g dry. That is much easier to follow than doing fresh math every time.
Why this helps
A repeatable meal plan helps multiple people feed the same cat without accidentally doubling portions.
Quick answers
Can I split food into three meals?
Yes. BowlMath can divide the daily plan into two, three or four meals.
Should every meal be identical?
Not necessarily, but identical meals are easier to repeat and track.
Important: BowlMath gives a practical starting estimate, not veterinary advice. Ask your veterinarian before changing portions for kittens, seniors, pregnant or nursing cats, diabetic cats, cats on therapeutic diets, or cats gaining/losing weight unexpectedly.
