How to read a cat food label
What's inside (12 pages in US Letter, 11 in A4)
- Daily plan card. Your cat's calorie target, split into wet, dry and treats, per meal. Made for the fridge.
- Multi-cat card. The same card with room for several cats, for homes where food bowls get mixed up.
- Weekly feeding and weigh-in log. What went in the bowl each day and what the scale said.
- Monthly weight chart. Plot the weigh-ins so a slow trend is easy to spot.
- Treat budget sheet. Keeps treats under about 10% of the day's calories, with space to note the kcal of the treats you actually buy.
- Calorie table. All 197 foods from the BowlMath database, 5 brands, with kcal per can or cup. Same label data as the site, checked on 13 and 14 October 2026.
- How to read a cat food label. Find the calorie line and turn kcal/kg into a portion.
Every page says: Estimates only. Not a substitute for your vet's advice.
Who it's for
For cat owners who use the BowlMath calculator and want the number on paper, especially in homes where more than one person feeds the cat or where there's more than one cat.
The calculator gives you a number. This pack puts that number where everyone in the house can see it. Fill in the daily card once and stick it on the fridge, so whoever feeds the cat gives the same amount. Log the weigh-ins between vet visits, and see what a treat costs before you hand it over.
Pay securely with Stripe. Your download link arrives by email right away.
Made from the same label data as the calculator. Labels last checked 13 and 14 October 2026.
These sheets turn your numbers into a routine. The numbers themselves are estimates. If your cat is a kitten, is losing or gaining weight fast, or has a health condition, follow your vet's plan and use the pack to write down what they tell you.
Questions
What format is it?
A fillable PDF: 12 pages in US Letter, 11 in A4. You get a download link by email right after you pay.
Can I print it at home?
Yes. It's made for a normal home printer, in black and white or colour. Print the log and chart as often as you need them.
Can I fill it in on screen?
Yes. The plan cards, the log and the treat sheet have fill-in fields. Type your numbers in a PDF app that supports forms, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Apple Preview, save it, then print. Or print it blank and use a pen.
Where does the calorie table come from?
From the same manufacturer label data as the site, checked on 13 and 14 October 2026. Brands change recipes, so check the label on your own can or bag. The free online table is updated when we recheck labels.
Do I need the pack to use the calculator?
No. The calculator and the calorie database stay free. The pack is for people who want it on paper.
What if the link doesn't work or I lose it?
Use the resend form on the thank-you page, or email hello@bowlmath.com with the address you paid with.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email hello@bowlmath.com within 30 days of buying and you get a full refund, no questions asked. The refund switches off your download link.
Before you buy, you tick a box so the download can start right away. That ends the 14-day right to withdraw that EU law gives you for digital purchases. Our 30-day refund is a separate promise of our own, and it still applies.
Is this advice from a vet?
No. BowlMath is a calculator built on manufacturer label data and standard feeding guidelines. The pack is a way to keep track. Estimates only, and not a substitute for your vet. Kittens and cats with health conditions should follow their vet's plan.
